Are you interested in auditioning for the Motet Singers? As of March 2019, we are currently accepting applications for new sopranos and altos for our 2019/20 season. First Round of auditions will be scheduled by appointment on May 15th, 2019. The second round of auditions will be held on Wednesday, June 19th. Members are expected to be able to sight-read, and to be comfortable singing multi-part music in a number of foreign languages. Previous experience singing in a small ensemble is highly desirable, as are training in music and/or voice.  Strong musicianship skills, the ability to blend and control vibrato, and good intonation are all important.

 

Auditionees will be asked to sight-read (both alone and with the ensemble), sing a piece with the group that has been prepared in advance, and perform one solo piece, preferably a simple folk or art song.
